Bay Area Sight Seeing

April 5th, 2010

This is a place to put sight seeing ideas for friends and relatives who come visit me in the Bay area. I will continue to update this page with new ideas as I find them:

  • San Francisco Segway Tour (3 hours)
I know someone who took this tour and he said it was a blast.
  • Alcatraz Tour (2 1/2 hours) with ferry ride from Pier 33
    This is also highly recommended
  • California Academy of Sciences, science museum in San Francisco (50 min. drive from my place, non rush-hour)
  • Other places of interest in San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands overlooking the Bridge, Lombard Street, Botanical Garden, The Presidio, Pier 39, Coit Tower
  • Napa wine tasting (1 1/2 hour drive from my place)
  • Half Moon Bay, Pacific Ocean, Pacific Coast Highway (40 min. drive from my place)
  • Castle Rock mountain hike, 5 mile hike with 1000 ft. of elevation (1 1/2-2 hour hike and a 35 min. drive to get there)
Some of the best and varied scenery of any Bay area mountain trails
  • Please send me more ideas or comments on these ideas in the comments area.

    Pizza Pics

I made pizza for some friends the other night and they wanted to see how I made the dough. So I figured I’d post the pics here for everyone to see. Click on the thumbnail for the full image.

    A Place Called Hope

    January 10th, 2010

Somehow I’ve lucked into a very cute little 2-bedroom home on Hope St., one block off of Castro in Mountain View. Castro has restaurants from just about every culture on the planet. My closest grocery is an asian market with great produce and fish but most packaged items don’t have any English words on them. I don’t take possession until Feb 1 so I’m stuck in cookie-cutter corporate housing until then. I’ll post more photos when I move in. Time for car shopping…
